2CD : Berlin 61/89 - Wall Of Sound (Schaullmauer)

Berlin 61/89 - Wall Of Sound

Berlin 61 – 89 / Wall Of Sound is not an ordinary compilation. It is
closer to a concept album, referring both to a chapter in History and a
musical assemblage which resounds like a continental echo to Phil
Spector’ s American pop Wall of Sound.
In this make-belief soundtrack, avant-garde rock and futuristic pop
express themselves, sometimes spangled with cabaret reminiscences and
veiled with the ghost of Kurt Weill. Extreme and intense music,
concocted during those three decades « at the foot of the Wall » and in
front of it by creators who love danger and risk taking. Alongside
pasionarias such as Nico and Nina Hagen, we can find German bands.
Faust, Agitation Free, Harmonia, Can, Die Krupps, Neu !, Einstürzende
Neubauten, their Swiss cousins the Young Gods and all the others are
aesthetes, pioneers of underground culture which tamed electronics with
an acute sense of efficiency ...

CD/Mp3 : Tusitala - Tusitala

Tusitala

Tusitala is the logical step taken by a very talented and passionate group of professional musicians whom have all collaborated during their career with the biggest name in the game: Sarah Lazarus, Charles Tayler, Menphis Slim, Marcel Azzola and many more…

Tusitala is the name given by the inhabitants of the Samoa’s Islands to the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, which could be translated as the “ story teller”.
The greatest asset of the band is its capacity to tell story, not through books as Stevenson did, but through their music.

With a wide array of references going from New Orlean classics to brazilian Bossa , adding a bit of swagger that might remind you of Boris Vian or Tom Waits.

Between nostalgic melodies, and enthousiastic ballads, Tusitala stories never fail to impress and smoothly impose their style and elegance.

CD/MP3 : Vive la fête - Best of

Born in 1997 from the true love between Danny Mommens, then bassist for
the cult band dEUS, and the blond supermodel Els Pynoo, Vive la fête
fathered quite an unique and spectacular genre of music:
A zest of new wave crawling between intoxicating electro loops, and all
of this, delivered in the language of Gainsbourg, Dutronc and France
Gall.
A genuine tribute to Jacques Tati’s “Jour de fête”, Vive la fête
musical boldness succeeded once again, with Disque d’or, into creating
a glamorous and surrealist effort.
An effort that the band never hesitate to defend thanks to their mind
blowing lives, from Bruges, to Sao Paulo, but also New York, Moscow,
Paris, Milan, Berlin and Tokyo.

Hailing from Belgium, Vive la Fête is the most stylish musical duo
since Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin or Debbie Harry & Chris
Stein; and they have a perfect electro-sound (they call it Kitsch pop)
that makes you feel and look good…. Their record is excellent and their
live act even better.
V Magazine

Fronted by knockout blonde Els Pynoo and music man Danny Mommens-
this fusion of electro with a dab of punk rock oozes charm and glamour,
think Blondie, think Brigitte Bardot, think Jane Birkin to stompin’
songs

CD/MP3 : The Backlash - Scratch Win

 The Backlash - Scratch Win

The BACKLASH is an electro project created by two living gods of belgian electro acts: ERIC POWA B (instigator of  new beat style at the end of the eighties in Europe) and JULIAN K (organizer  of famous electro kamping k parties).

Their first album SERIAL CLEANER released in January 2006, including hit  Sexgames  remixed by  Pan/Tone (aka Sid Le Rock) and Alex Smoke was a bomb on the dancefloors of the international electro stage (playlisted by dj' s such as Sven Vath, Dj Hell, Ritchie Hawtin, Magda).

Their style is a subtle mixture of various electronic influences such as Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Fad Gadget, Anthony Rother, The Hacker the whole tinted with a minimal techno.

Three years after the first album, they are coming  back with a second, more accomplished, 'SCRATCH'N’WIN' including remix of Tomas Andersson and Shrubbn aka T. Raumschmiere and Schiere.

Mixing melodious songs (In way Out), and strong rhythmics Electro (Feel The Heat), this complete album offers us a full panel of interesting and successful tunes. Scratch' n Win, the eponymous track of the album is the most representative example.
