Stuart Moxham with Louis Philippe - The huddle house

« The Huddle House brings us great news of an artist who usually gives us very little, or no information at all.
Indeed, Stuart Moxham is without any doubt one of indie rock most unique character. His first band, the Young marble Giants created with his Brother Phil and neighbour Alison recorded one of the most unexpected and surprising album, Colossal Youth. their music was constructed around the powerful and minimal instrumentation of brothers Philip and Stuart Moxham supporting the naive untrained vocals of Alison Statton.
Discreet yet intense, colossal youth influenced a whole generation of musicians including Kurt Cobain, who admited that he picked up a guitar thanks to this album.
In 30 years, Stuart never stopped creating and recording, but his taste for loneliness, and his habit of regularly disapearing finally discouraged every potential collaborators so far.
Until his meeting with Louis Phillipe, the french pop Genius, one of the most sought modern composer and autor of about fifteen critically aclaimed album.
The pair gave birth to a minimalist opus that remind us of Johhny cash’s American Recordings produced by Rick Rubin. The Huddle House contains some of Stuart most beautiful creations, his deep and emotional voice on a title like « Save it » will surely touch you,  and his precise guitar play evokes the likes of Nick Drake.
Some musicians are tightly attached to an era, and compose songs that can be quickly forgotten, but not Stuart, who doesn’t belong to a particular time and place, the huddle house             could have been a miraculous record from the 70’s ».
